Course Overview

Although emphasis is on small intestinal resection and anastomosis, topics will include jejunocolostomy, typhlotomy, revision of jejunocecostomy, deep ileal resection or inversion, large colon resection and anastomosis, small colon resection and anastomosis, correction of cecocolic intussusception, gastrotomy, small intestinal enterotomy, epiploic foramen enlargement, epiploic foramen closure with mesh, repeat celiotomy, complications, complicated abdominal access, aftercare, and use of stapling equipment.

Please note that we have discontinued the live surgery lab. The cadaver surgery lab will include demonstrations and hands-on completion of anastomoses and important intraabdominal procedures.
